Hi my name is sarcasm.

Today, walking down baxter st. towards finley, a man approached me while i was texting and caught me off guard with a compliment.

"you look alright, i know you're all right."

intially i was unaware he was talking to me, then it became increasingly clear what it is he wanted. my mind raced for a witty comment to make my escape to when he provided me the opening.

"can you give me a dollar? cmon," he implored, "we're the same kind."

the same kind...obviously, referring to my skin color. an appeal many black homeless people try to use on me, and today i was on my game, responding,

"yea, we are the same. i could use a dollar too. we are both broke."

he was shocked and paused a moment. i gave him a nod and a smile and continued down the street.

Arsenal vs. Roma

I hope that both Arsenal and Roma win while at the same time both Inter and Manchester United lose....

A boy can dream.

Economics

I have added to my best of the blogosphere section links to two prominent economic blogs. I feel their commentary proves to be more than useful in the context of current developments and debates occurring in Washington.

Specifically, Paul Krugman touched on a little insight into the politics that are playing apart in the construction, or in some cases destruction, of the stimulus bill currently being circulated in congress. Posted here a few days ago.

On another note. The University of Georgia's campus movie fest is a sham. Adrian Cox's "Requiem" was by far the most outstanding work cinematically and creativelly. Rightfully it won best drama but how it did not find its way into best film overrall is beyond me.
